The collection made accessible by this site contains digital files taken from compact discs. L.C. Littlejohn conducted these two interviews in the 1950s and recorded them on reel-to-reel tapes. 

The recordings document the recollections of two long-time Clemson College employees, William "Uncle Bill" Greenlee of the black community and James Harrison "Uncle Bud"/"Mr. Mc" McHugh of the white community in Clemson.  Topics include people and places that influenced and defined the early history of Clemson University.
