Abstract

Jeff Peake, born in Maryland in 1970, pursued a political science career influenced by his high school football and moot court experiences. He attended Clemson University, initially intending to be a lawyer but shifted to political science. After serving in the Army, he earned a PhD from Texas A&M, focusing on American government and foreign policy. Peake joined Clemson's political science department thereafter, serving as department chair for 12 years. He expanded the department, adding two graduate programs and increasing faculty and student numbers. Peake emphasized the importance of study abroad programs, citing their significant impact on students' careers.
