Abstract
William Lasser discusses his personal experiences and how their early exposure to politics shaped their career choices. He emphasized the importance of mentors and early exposure to politics. Later, he discussed his experiences in teaching and research at Clemson University, highlighting the challenges of the job market and the importance of presenting multiple viewpoints in constitutional law. He also explains and interprets changes within the Political Science Department at Clemson University since 1983, including its transformation from a service department to a more research-focused institution. They stressed the need for the department to continue attracting top students and providing them with opportunities to make a difference in the world as well as expanding their reach throughout other educational disciplines.
