50th Anniversary of Political Science at Clemson University

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Political Science Department at Clemson University this collection of oral histories and research has been curated to celebrate this achievement. The department was officially instated in 1974 after an inital reorganization of the College of Liberal Arts into six separate departments containing Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, History, Religion, and Philosophy. In addition to this project, a gala occurred to celebrate the anniversary, provided by the Political Science Department and the Special Collections and Archives. This showcases physical memorabilia of the department's history and its influence on Clemson University's campus.
This project is a collaborative effort of several people including, Paige Magoto, the graduate researcher, who provided the digital work, analysis, and content; Julia Morgan, the undergraduate student worker who provided  valuable research of all of the materials in the archives, and staff members of the Political Science Department, including Shea Mazique and Alexis Jennings. The project was overseen and edited by Dr. Tara S. Wood, Instruction & Outreach Archvist in Special Collections and Archives at Clemson.
